On June 17‑18, 2025, in strict accordance with the Work Plan for Safety Month Activities, Dazhong Chemical organized practical emergency response drills for leakage of hazardous chemicals including liquid ammonia and methanol under the theme “Everyone Emphasizes Safety, Everyone Can Respond to Emergencies — Identify Hidden Safety Hazards Around Us”. The drills aimed to comprehensively strengthen the enterprise’s capability to handle accidents involving hazardous chemicals and major hazard sources.

Simulated Scenarios to Verify the Emergency‑response System

Given the high‑risk properties of flammable and explosive hazardous chemicals such as methanol and liquid ammonia, typical accident scenarios were set for this drill: a leakage occurred at the pipeline flange at the bottom of the tank farm. After abnormal on‑site alarms were detected in the central control room, field staff were dispatched immediately for site investigation. Professional response teams quickly put on full‑set protective equipment and entered the leakage zone to carry out emergency operations in strict compliance with operating procedures.
Participants went through decontamination procedures in the spray‑washing purification area in an orderly manner. Meanwhile, the fire‑fighting system and emergency control devices were activated to precisely contain the simulated leakage source. Under unified command, emergency plugging of the leakage point was completed successfully. At the same time, the medical rescue, safety supervision and logistics support teams performed support tasks such as equipment inspection, medical aid and system monitoring outside the cordoned‑off area.

The on‑site chief commander activated the emergency rescue plan without delay and assigned special personnel to set up security cordons at surrounding road intersections to bar unauthorized personnel from approaching, ensuring a safe and orderly emergency‑response site.

Whole‑process Review to Consolidate the Foundation of Safety Management

The two drills fully tested the scientific soundness and practicality of the emergency plan, focusing on assessing the rapid‑response capacity, professional handling proficiency and teamwork efficiency of emergency teams.
The on‑site person‑in‑charge emphasized: “Safety drills are by no means a mere formality; they are compulsory courses to safeguard personal safety and production operations. All staff shall maintain constant safety awareness, continuously improve emergency‑handling capabilities, and internalize safety rules into instinctive responses.”

This series of drills further improved the enterprise’s emergency management system and deepened the safety philosophy of “Prevention First, Integration of Prevention and Rescue”. The company will continue to conduct multi‑scenario emergency training in follow‑up work to fully reinforce the lines of defence for safe production. It will effectively guarantee the safe and stable operation of production systems as well as employees’ personal safety, resolutely prevent various hidden dangers and accidents, and practically fulfil the corporate primary responsibility for safety and environmental protection.
